Power facilities targeted in the region
The country's power facilities have faced increased strikes in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Moscow's aerial assaults have resulted in power cuts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were wounded while local people in eastern districts were left without electricity and dealt with problems to water supplies, according to local authorities.

Simultaneously, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a separate aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, as reported by local officials.

Russian forces has escalated attacks on electrical systems over the past few days, while officials has called for "concrete actions" from allies to exert influence on Russia.

"What is required is not window dressing but decisive action - from the America, the EU and the major economies - in supplying protection systems and applying restrictions," was stated in a public message.

Officials stated that 450 drones and more than 30 projectiles attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such strikes as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Russia was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were working to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes struck energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in the capital.

Multiple people injured in the strikes on the city have been hospitalized, according to local officials.

Regional authorities said the city came under heavy assaults throughout the evening. A young boy lost their life and three other people were injured.

The attacks succeed evenings of bombing campaigns in the area, portions of which are currently controlled by Moscow's military.

The whole nation is on alert for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are tougher to detect.

Government officials told the media that Russia was purposely seeking to demolish the national power system, with strikes already affecting fuel infrastructure.

Authorities confirmed energy workers and government agencies were anticipating more assaults.
